Washed Ashore Sculptures
SeaWorld Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio
To showcase SeaWorld’s commitment to the environment and passion for protecting the ocean, a series of giant sea life sculptures reside at our SeaWorld Parks. SeaWorld commissioned environmental art group The Washed Ashore Project for a collection of larger-than-life sea-themed sculptures – many weighing more than half a ton. The material used to create these pieces comes from the billions of pounds of garbage – mostly plastics – that wind up in our oceans. These amazing works of art point to the urgent need to protect marine animals from such dangers and preserve their ocean habitats.

With a legacy of animal rescue spanning more than four decades and benefiting more than 23,000 animals, responding to wildlife in crisis is a commitment we take to heart. Working in partnership with state, local, and federal agencies, our rescue teams are on call 24/7 assisting animals that are orphaned, ill, injured or in need of expert care.
The goal is to successfully rehabilitate animals for return to the wild. The small percentages of animals whose injuries are too debilitating to permit release are given lifelong care.
The park’s Behind the Scenes tours gets guests up close to animals. Discover how our animal experts care for rescued manatees, sea turtles, sea lions and other animals in need.
Many of the tour admissions donate a percentage to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund® to support conservation projects around the world.
Animal Care Center
Busch Gardens Tampa
Busch Gardens® Tampa cares for more than 12,000 animals representing more than 300 species and guests can closely observe and even take part in the animal care experience at the park’s Animal Care Center.
From nutrition to treatments, X-rays to surgeries, much of Busch Gardens’ animal care is conducted in guest view in this new state-of-the-art facility.

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment has discontinued the use of plastic bags in all park gift shops and now use only bags made from recycled paper and reusable bags. This initiative keeps an estimated four million plastic bags from entering landfills and the environment each year.
Sustainable Menu Items
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment’s commitment to care for the natural world extends to the food the park serves, from sustainable seafood to organic coffee.
As the world’s appetite for seafood skyrockets and commercial fishing becomes increasingly efficient, many of our ocean’s fisheries are overfished, overexploited or collapsing. Choosing sustainable seafood that was responsibly fished or farmed replenishes our oceans, preserves species and ensures a healthy world for future generations.
Park restaurants serve seafood including shrimp, scallops, crab and numerous varieties of fish that are purchased from sustainably managed fisheries and aquaculture farms many of which are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council and Global Aquaculture Alliance respectively.
Cup that Cares™
Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin® at SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld’s Cup That Cares engages guests in a personalized manner to reuse materials and reduce their carbon footprint. An RFID chip embedded in each Cup That Cares interacts with software at Coca-Cola Freestyle® dispensers to calculate and tell guests how they are being more environmentally responsible by choosing to reuse.
SeaWorld donates $1 from each Cup That Cares purchase to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens® Conservation Fund, a not-for-profit foundation that helps protect wildlife around the world.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s horticulture team creates 40 to 50 tons of park mulch each year from the 1,500 trees leftover from the parks Christmas Town event.
Repurposing Christmas Town trees is just one of the ways that the world’s most beautiful theme park is committed to going green. The park uses an average of 600 gallons of reclaimed water from air conditioning condensate and water from rain barrels situated throughout the park to water some of its greenery. The Busch Gardens’ greenhouse staff also releases tens of thousands of beneficial bugs into the park each year as a natural form of pest management.
Meet Animal Ambassadors
SeaWorld guests are often greeted by an animal ambassador, many of whom were orphaned or injured in the wild and given a second chance thanks to the SeaWorld Rescue Team.
As part of SeaWorld’s 50th Celebration, guests can get up close and learn more about the park’s animal ambassadors including Magellanic penguins, lemurs, or flamingos.
