Mills E. Godwin High School Students win Colossal Pool Party at Water Country USA®
WILLIAMSBURG (May 30, 2014) – Mills E. Godwin High School students are headed to Virginia’s largest water park this Saturday for a colossal field trip and pool party. Water Country USA® announced the Henrico County school as the winner of the park’s Colossal Pool Party Giveaway. The school has won admission to Water Country USA for up to 300 students and chaperones, plus an exclusive two-hour party at the park after it closes to guests.
Earlier this spring, Water Country USA launched a video submission contest to celebrate the summer season and the opening of its newest family-thrill attraction, Colossal Curl™. High schools throughout the mid-Atlantic region were invited to submit a video detailing why they deserved to win a Colossal Pool Party at Water Country USA. The park narrowed down the submissions to two finalists and Water Country USA’s Facebook fans were invited to vote to select the winner. To view the winner’s video, visit Water Country USA’s Official YouTube Channel.
Colossal Curl officially opened for the season on May 23. True to its name, Colossal Curl thrills guests with a high-adrenaline, action-packed water slide adventure. The park’s first family-thrill attraction features a funnel element that swishes and swirls up to four riders aboard a cloverleaf-shaped raft before whisking them through the slide’s enclosed tubes on their way to a wave element that hurtles them high above the park. The unique combination of funnel and wave thrill elements, makes Colossal Curl the only attraction of its kind in North America.
