What is Howl-O-Scream?

Howl-O-Scream is a yearly Halloween fright fest, and Tampa’s No. 1 haunted attraction, held at Busch Gardens® Tampa. This adults-only event transforms Busch Gardens into a late-night party with haunted houses, scare zones and a live show. This event requires an admission ticket separate from daytime admission to Busch Gardens. Daytime admission to Busch Gardens is not included nor required.   
 

Is this event suitable for children?

Howl-O-Scream 2014 contains intense adult content such as violence, gore and blood and is not intended for children.

Are kids allowed?

While this event is intended for adults only, children under 18 will be admitted to the event. There is no discounted rate for children.
 

Will the rides and attractions be open?

Yes, Busch Gardens’ most popular rides will be open during Howl-O-Scream 2014, including Falcon’s Fury, Cheetah Hunt, SheiKra, Montu, Kumba and Gwazi. Water rides and additional attractions may be opened based on weather. Visit the Attractions page for more information.

Is there an advantage to buying tickets in advance?

YES! There are some seriously scary savings when you buy your tickets early, including almost half off when you Buy online and save. Or, bring three or more friends, grab a Twisted Thursday 4-Pack and save a bundle. You can also buy your discounted ticket at a participating Publix Supermarket or at AAA or save with promotional codes found at participating Taco Bell and Applebee's locations in Central Florida and on Fanta products in participating Walgreens.

What is the Wild & Wicked Weekend ticket?

The Wild & Wicked Weekend Package lets true Halloween fans face their fears over and over again with a long weekend (Thursday through Sunday) of unlimited access to Busch Gardens by day and Howl-O-Scream 2014 by night! Or, you can add a hotel stay for two nights as part of the Wild & Wicked Weekend Package, get in to Busch Gardens day and night, and enjoy two nights of accommodations.
 

If I purchase a daytime park ticket to Busch Gardens, will it include Howl-O-Scream?

No. Howl-O-Scream 2014 is a separate-ticketed night event. Daytime admission to Busch Gardens is neither required nor included in general Howl-O-Scream admission tickets.

What is Front Line Fear?

For those who prefer to self-guide themselves through the event but want the front-of-the-line perks, there’s the Front Line Fear pass, which grants front-of-the-line access to six houses, excluding The Experiment and Zombie Containment Unit 15.
 

Do you offer any Howl-O-Scream vacation packages?

Can I wear a costume to Howl-O-Scream?

No, for the safety of our costumed performers and other visitors to the event, guests in costumes will not be permitted.
 

How much is a Howl-O-Scream ticket?

General admission is $89 plus tax, but you’ll only pay that rate if you wait until the night of the event and walk up to the front gate to buy your ticket. You’ll save on general admission ticket price if you purchase your ticket at a participating Publix Supermarkets or at AAA. You can also save on that rate with promotional codes found at participating Taco Bell and Applebee's locations in Central Florida and on Fanta products in participating Walgreens.
 

How late is the park open?

Howl-O-Scream 2014 is open until 1 a.m. on all event nights.
 

How much is parking?

Parking for Howl-O-Scream 2014 is the same rate as Busch Gardens. General car parking is $17.

Do I still get free parking with my one/two year Annual Pass or Platinum Pass?

Yes. Daytime benefits for Pass Members – including free parking and discounts on food and merchandise – still apply for Howl-O-Scream 2014.
 

If I have a Busch Gardens ticket, Fun Card, or Annual Pass and a Howl-O-Scream ticket, do I have to exit the park and re-enter?

If you are already inside the park, either with a daytime admission ticket, Fun Card or Annual Pass, and have a ticket to Howl-O-Scream 2014 for that same night, you can stay inside the Stanleyville and Pantopia areas of the park as the park transitions to the Howl-O-Scream event.

Is it true that motorized wheelchairs are not permitted in haunted houses?

All of our haunted houses are ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible, but there are some tight corners to turn. We do ask that guests transfer to a standard (non-motorized) wheelchair to tour the haunted houses. The chairs will be provided by the hosts at each house.

Are motorized wheelchairs rented during the event?

Motorized wheelchairs are not rented during the event. However, standard (non-motorized) wheelchairs are rented during the event. Any motorized wheelchairs rented during the day must be returned by 6 p.m.
 

What if it rains? Will I get a rain ticket?

Howl-O-Scream 2014 is a separate-ticketed special event. No rain checks will be issued.

What is an in-park upgrade?

Busch Gardens’ daytime guests that would like to stay for Howl-O-Scream 2014 can purchase a discounted admission of $40 for the nighttime event while they are in the park.

Do I have to be part of a corporation to receive the group rate?

Any group of 15 or more guests that purchase tickets in advance with one transaction are eligible to receive the group discount.
 

Can I buy more than four tickets with the Thursday 4-Pack?

Yes – guests will receive the discount when they purchase four or more tickets. All tickets purchased with each 4-pack transaction will be valid for the same Thursday night.

Can I use my Thursday 4-Pack tickets over a couple of different Thursday nights?

No, all tickets purchased as 4-Pack are valid for the same night.
 

Is the "Recurring Nightmare" pass available this year?

Yes. The Recurring Nightmare package is available at the front gate ONLY (it is not available online). It gets you UNLIMITED Howl-O-Scream 2014 admission on Thursdays and Fridays.

Do Platinum Members get into Freaky Preview for free?

Platinum Pass Members get in free for Freaky Preview on the first weekend of Howl-O-Scream 2014 - September 26 & 27, 2014.
