"MERCYME” HEADLINES PRAISE WAVE AT SEAWORLD® SAN ANTONIO, PLUS FIRST-EVER FREE SUNRISE SERVICE

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 30, 2013) – This year’s sixth annual Praise Wave will feature GMA Dove-award winning and Grammy® nominated Christian rock group MercyMe and the first-ever free Sunrise Service and an on-site build for Habitat for Humanity.

In addition to MercyMe, Matt Mahr and Chris August will perform at SeaWorld® San Antonio’s Praise Wave concert series, scheduled for May 4. This spiritually moving concert series will be held at SeaWorld's Nautilus Amphitheater.

After nearly 20 years together, Texas-based band, MercyMe has served up such memorable songs as “I Can Only Imagine,” the first song in Christian music to go platinum and “Word of God Speak,” which was named the number one Christian Song of the Decade by Billboard magazine. MercyMe has also received Grammy nominations, numerous Dove awards and an American Music Award.

All Praise Wave performances are included with park admission, and concert attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a concert wristband, valid for one of the two concert performances scheduled for 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. Since seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis, guests are required to pick up a wristband near Nautilus Amphitheater on the day of the concert. Concert times are subject to change.

On Sunday, May 5 guests are invited to the first-ever Sunrise Service featuring worship by Shane & Shane and a message by Pastor Mike Hooper, Jr. at SeaWorld’s Ski Stadium at 7 a.m. Immediately following the Sunrise Service, guests can watch the soul-stirring Shamu show, “Glory!” Sunrise Service is free and is open to the public. Admission is not required or included.

Following the Sunrise Service, guests will also have the opportunity volunteer in an on-site Habitat for Humanity project. With the instruction of Habitat for Humanity representatives, guests can build walls for an active Habitat for Humanity home in San Antonio. Building begins at 9 a.m. in SeaWorld’s Preferred Parking lot. SeaWorld admission is not required, but participants must pay to park.

SeaWorld is pleased to offer discounted admission to groups for the weekend of Praise Wave. For more information on tickets and show times, guests can visit SeaWorld.com.
