San Antonio, Texas (August 15, 2014) - SeaWorld San Antonio announced today a new dolphin facility will open in the northern part of the park. Work is scheduled to begin next season and open to guests in 2016. The project is one of the largest capital investments in the park's history and will include a revolutionary new area for dolphins. These changes will provide an enhanced natural environment that reflects a coastal the meed home for the dolphins, as well as allow guests to experience these amazing mammals in new, more powerful ways.

The area surrounding the sea lion facilities will be remained and open in spring 2015 as Rocky Point Preserve - an immerse experience that has the look and feel of a Pacific coast town where guests will make powerful connections with sea lions and other coastal wildlife. The new realm will include a brand-new show and feature a significant transformation to the park's sea lion exhibit that allows guests to experience a more enriching animal connection. The park's current sea lion show, "The Cannery Row Caper" - the longest-running show in SeaWorld San Antonio's history - will end its nine-year run on Monday, Sept. 1.

Granting $1.2 Million to Help Animals in Need

2013-SW-BG-Conservation-Grants

Adelie penguins are one of the species that will benefit from more than $1.2 million in grants awarded this year by the non-profit SeaWorld® & Busch Gardens® Conservation Fund. the Fund approved grants to 93 wildlife research and conservation projects. Since its inception 10 years ago, the Fund has granted more than $10 million to protect wildlife and wild places.

New Attraction Coming to Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark™

Beginning in May 2014, Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark™, will introduce a 13,500 square feet aviary containing about 300 birds represending more than 50 species. The newest attraction will be one of the park's serene offerings, giving guests the chance to float, wade or walk among hundreds of tropical birds. Some of the birds are considered threatened or endangered and our aviary will help in conservation efforts.
