SeaWorld Cares

While wildlife care and conservation is at the heart of our parks, our company as a whole focuses on three core philanthropic areas: children, environment and education. Through the power of entertainment in our parks, we’re able to inspire children and educate guests of all ages. Our philanthropic work takes these efforts to the next level.

We are committed to the communities in which we live, learn, work and play. We also support charities and organizations across the country whose values and missions are aligned with our own. Whether it be long-term strategic support to advance their mission to financial support to in-kind resources or hands-on volunteer work, caring is an active part of the work we do.

SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund

Conserving and caring for wildlife and wild places has been our mission and passion for more than 40 years. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment contributed more than $2.5 million, in 2012 alone, to ensure the sustainability of animal species in the wild.

The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund is just one way you can get involved. The Fund supports wildlife research, habitat protection, animal rescue, and conservation education in the U.S. and countries all over the world.

Half a billion people have passed through the gates of a SeaWorld park since 1964, and each has benefited from educational experiences that inspire a deeper understanding, respect and desire to protect all wildlife.

Our programs have helped schools, teachers, children and adults explore the ocean environment and all its inhabitants. In one year alone, SeaWorld’s award-winning education programs reach more than half a million people and encompass more than 600,000 hours of structured teaching. Plus, we offer our guests countless informal teaching experiences inside the parks: educators, show and exhibit narrations, and interpretive and interactive graphics.

Rescue Programs

SeaWorld parks have helped animals in need - ill, injured, orphaned, and abandoned - for more than four decades. More than 22,000 animals have been rescued by the park’s animal experts including whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, manatees, sea turtles and birds.

This is the equivalent of helping one animal a day - every day - for over 45 years. The majority of these animals are successfully treated by SeaWorld veterinarians, rehabilitated and returned to the wild. Our parks’ commitment to research and conservation has led to advances in the care of animals in both zoological facilities and wild populations

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment contributed more than $2.5 million, in 2012 alone, to ensure the sustainability of animal species in the wild.

SeaWorld also supports more than 100 environmental organizations worldwide, ranging from local community initiatives to global wildlife research and conservation programs. These partnerships allow the parks to share animal expertise, strengthen on-the-ground efforts to protect wildlife, and educate millions of people. Just a few of these valued partners include National Wildlife Federation, Conservation International, World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and National Geographic Society. For more information, go to
