Birds of a Feather Conserve Together

These penguin cups may look cute but they actually have a noble purpose: encouraging guests to reuse materials and reduce their carbon footprint. With each purchase of its new Cup That Cares™, SeaWorld® will donate $1 to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund,® a foundation that helps animals around the world.  Plus, technology embedded in each cup calculates the amount of CO2 each guest saves from entering the atmosphere when they choose to reuse the cup for refills at Coca-Cola Freestyle® machines in SeaWorld Orlando’s epic new attraction, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin ™.

Don’t Mess With Texas!

Highway trash is not only an eyesore it’s also a hazard to wildlife. In Texas SeaWorld® San Antonio helped state legislators re-launch “Don’t mess with Texas,” a successful anti-littering campaign focused on Texas highways. Red, white and blue bins will be placed throughout the state at locations such as SeaWorld San Antonio. SeaWorld is the first Texas business to champion the cause.

Scientific Breakthrough

A scientific breakthrough took place at SeaWorld® San Diego when penguins conceived through artificial insemination and hatched healthy chicks. This scientific advancement allows zoological institutions to share genetic material and ensure the sustainability of zoological populations. The techniques and knowledge gained from this advancement has the potential to be applied to other bird species, including endangered species in the wild.

“Happy Tails” Wags Way to Busch Gardens Tampa

Happy Tails has wagged into Busch Gardens® Tampa. The pet adoption program is now in all SeaWorld and Busch Gardens cities nationwide: Orlando, San Antonio, San Diego, Williamsburg and Tampa. Since 2011 the program has helped place more than 37,000 dogs and cats into loving homes. Happy Tails provides two complimentary, single-day, admission tickets to pet lovers who adopt a dog or cat from a participating shelter. It’s our way to say thank you to these adopters for giving these animals a second chance.

Waves of Honor

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment™ is honoring the men and women of the U.S. armed services through its Waves of Honor™ military salute program. The program provides free admission to the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Parks, and Sesame Place® for members of U.S. armed forces and as many as three direct dependents through 2013. The parks have hosted more than 6 million service members and their families since the program’s debut in 2001.
