Teacher Workshops: Shamu Across The Curriculum

About the Program

Teachers are invited to expand their knowledge of marine life, collect fun lessons to conduct with students, and get ideas about how to integrate science into the classroom. This workshop is designed for groups of teachers that are interested in professional development, personal enrichment, team building, and/or seeking continuing professional education. Customize your experience by selecting topics important you and your group, including:

  • Experiencing standards-based activities regarding animal adaptations at our immersive habitats
  • Conservation Science
  • Cross-curricular Lesson Plans
  • SeaWorld Career Shadowing
  • Incorporating nature into the classroom
  • Behind-the-scenes look at how SeaWorld’s cares for its amazing animals
  • And much more! 


SeaWorld’s professional development takes you on an incredible educational adventure that will earn you up to 4 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) through the State Board of Education (SBEC).  All lesson plans, activities, and experiences provided during this program are aligned with National Science Standards and Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS)* Teachers will receive a participation certificate for attending a SeaWorld Teacher workshop.

*TEKs will vary with experiences selected.
