SAN ANTONIO, TX (Jan. 9, 2012) - SeaWorld San Antonio kicks off its 2012 season on Saturday, February 4, making this the earliest SeaWorld has opened in 20 years. “Due to positive feedback from our guests and a phenomenal 2011 season, we’re opening SeaWorld earlier than prior years,” said Park President Dan Decker. It’s also the first time in two decades that families can enjoy the park on President’s Day – a school and government holiday celebrated on February 20.

The park is opening three weekends earlier than last year, allowing more opportunities for guests to enjoy our most recent additions, including the Shamu show “One Ocean” and Sesame Street Bay of Play. “Our pass members and guests ask us every year to open the park earlier, and we’re excited to give them what they want in 2012,” said Decker. An earlier opening also means that SeaWorld is seeking new team members sooner than usual. Open positions are currently posted on

In addition, we’ve created value for our Annual Pass and Fun Card holders by adding more calendar days to the 2012 season without having to increase our admission pricing. With about 30 more days added to the season, guests will have more opportunities to take advantage of the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter events in the park.

Spring at SeaWorld

Springtime favorites include the return of animal expert and television personality, Jack Hanna, for “Wild Days” on February 25 and 26, along with extended evening hours in March for Spring into Night shows and the Christian concert series, Praise Wave on March 31 and April 7. SeaWorld is adding a new concert series this year called “Just for Kids,” featuring live shows geared for children by nationally-recognized entertainers. The series will be held on select Saturdays in April and May. In late spring, SeaWorld will open its largest addition ever – Aquatica San Antonio. The new waterpark is set to open in May and will blend up-close animal experiences with water attractions from serene to extreme.
